Game Projects:

Scraps was my first portfolio piece and a real exploration of communication through environmental story telling and mechanics. At first I was admittedly overly ambitious with this project, attempting to create a procedurally generated city scape that was, to be fair, coming along nicely but had to be... scrapped... for time. Even so this project was a lot of fun for me and elicited one comment from a teacher for the most "unique mechanic" they've ever seen in the form of the acid balls.

Adventure was a much more recent addition to my portfolio. The really core mechanic for my section of the game came in the form of the rotating mirrors used to reflect light in order to open doors. I was originally also going to employ portals, but once again the idea had to be cut for time which ultimately didn't affect much but which still merited a single tear from me.

My Capstone Project: The Dolorous Realms. Based on Pokemon as our obvious reference game, The Dolorous Realms was initially meant to be set in the 9 circles of hell, and time permitting it still will be as I have every intention of continuing the project. I certainly believe there is a market demand for it and I think the use of misleading Everquest advertising bares that out. Certainly the most ambitious project in my portfolio to date but so far it has been well worth the effort.
